Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Accredited college work in Education, Recreation, Physical Education or related field preferred.
  • Current certification as Lifeguard.
  • Current certifications in CPR/First Aid.
  • Experience in teaching or coaching swimming.
  • Work experience in a structured environment desired.

JOB GOAL:
Plans, organizes, and implements all aquatic activities to a variety of groups on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS:

  • He/She is responsible for the safety of all staff members and campers assigned to the pool activity.
  • He/She supervises campers assigned to the pool activity.
  • He/She supervises, monitors, and participates in all aquatic activities scheduled daily.
  • He/She supervises, monitors, and participates in daily swimming lessons.
  • He/She supervises, monitors, and organizes the testing of all campers and assigns them to appropriate levels.
  • He/She must model appropriate Christian behavior at all times.
  • He/She must attend weekly after camp meetings.
  • He/She will complete other duties assigned by Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director(s).
REPORTS TO:
The Aquatics Director reports directly to the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director(s).


EVALUATION:
The Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director(s) will evaluate the Aquatic Director weekly. The evaluation will be based on successfully completing the responsibilities listed above.
