Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 16 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or currently in school.
  • Current certifications in CPR/First Aid. Lifeguard certification preferred. 
  • Swimming background desired. 
  • Work experience in a structured environment desired

JOB GOAL:
Acts in a support role to the Aquatics Director planning, organizing, and implementing in all aquatic activities to a variety of groups on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS:

  • He/She assists the Aquatic Director with the safety of all campers assigned to the pool activity.
  • He/She assists the Aquatic Director in the supervision of the campers assigned to their group.
  • He/She assists the Aquatic Director in supervising, monitoring, and participating in all aquatic activities scheduled daily.
  • He/She assists the Aquatic Director in supervising, monitoring, and participating in daily swimming lessons.
  • He/She assists the Aquatic Director in testing all campers and assigning them to appropriate levels.
  • He/She must model appropriate Christian behavior at all times.
  • He/She must attend weekly after camp meetings.
  • He/She will complete other duties assigned by the Aquatic Director, Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director(s).

REPORTS TO:
The Swim Instructor/Lifeguard reports directly to the Aquatics Director, Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director(s).


EVALUATION:
The Aquatic Director will evaluate the Swim Instructor/Lifeguard weekly. The evaluation will be based on successfully completing the responsibilities listed above.
